The B&B Colibrì is located in a residential area, a few minutes away from the city centre of Lanciano, from the Eucharistic Miracle and close to the fairgrounds. It can be easily reached by public transport or even on foot for those enjoying a nice walk.

Lanciano is famous for being the town of the first Eucharistic Miracle.

The Miracle happened in the VIII century when a monk, while celebrating Mass, had a doubt about the real presence of Jesus in the Host. In that moment the bread turned into flesh and the wine into blood. The Miracle relics are kept in the San Francesco cathedral and permanently exposed in a monstrance. They are visited by hundreds of thousands of pilgrims every year.

The B&B Colibrì is also a good starting point to discover the amazing Abruzzo territory which can be visited with daily excursions.

We are at your service for more information about the places, points of interest and itineraries around Lanciano.

The location is also ideal for the beach and mountain lovers, which can both be easily reached from the B&B: the distance from the sea is 10 km (S. Vito-Fossacesia-Torino di Sangro) and from the Maiella mountains approximately 30 Km (Guardiagrele – PassoLanciano – Blockhouse).

The geographical position offers the visitors the possibility of many interesting excursions:

Along the main road to San Vito is the famous Costa deiTrabocchi, where you can get a glimpse of the wooden stilts which are still used for fishing nowadays (the “trabocchi”).

The wild vegetation surrounding the coastline makes the marine landscape particularly charming, a true paradise for relax and nature lovers.

The altitude enthusiasts, instead, can reach the Blockhouse in less than one hour (2. 200 metres above sea level) to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the mountain.

Also to be visited: San Giovanni in Venere Abbey, preserving numerous decorations and frescos of high artistic interest; Guardiagrele, a typical mountain village boasting rich handicraft traditions and many medieval artistic and architectural works of art; la Grotta del cavallone  in Taranta Peligna, a deep natural cave with stalactites and stalagmites; Pescocostanzo, a picturesque medieval village, where you can be enchanted by the lace pillow, carpet and jewelry craftsmanship.
